4 Things You Should Know About Voice Acting

July 27, 2022 by Emeka Emecheta

Voice acting is a unique and interesting profession that allows actors to use their voices to bring characters to life.

Actors can find work doing everything from animation and video games to audiobooks and commercials.

Though it may seem like a relatively simple process, there are actually several things that voice actors need to know in order to be successful.

Here are four things you should know about voice acting.

The ability to read and interpret scripts

The ability to read and interpret scripts is essential for any voice actor. You need to be able to understand what the character is feeling and saying in order to give a good performance. You also need to have strong vocal skills. This includes being able to control your breath, project your voice, and use inflection correctly.

The ability to create various vocal sounds and inflections

A good voice actor needs to be able to produce a variety of sounds and inflections. This includes being able to modulate their voice for different characters, making sound effects, and using dialects. A versatile voice actor will be able to do all of these things without sounding strained or forced.

An understanding of microphone technique

Microphone technique is one of the most important things you should know about voice acting. After all, without a good microphone, your voice will never be heard by anyone! There are a few basics that every voice actor should understand: firstly, Always keep your mouth close to the mic – this will ensure that your voice is picked up clearly. Secondly, try to avoid consuming food or drink before recording – it can cause unwanted noise and make you sound muffled. Finally, remember to stay still while recording – movements can create pops and clicks that ruin takes.

An understanding of character development

Voice acting is a field that often gets misunderstood. To many, it seems like an easy gig – simply show up, read some lines, and get paid. However, voice acting is much more than that. Voice acting is all about character development. The best voice actors are able to create believable, multi-dimensional characters that audiences can connect with on an emotional level.

A great deal of training and practice is required to become a successful voice actor. Many actors have to gain years of experience before they start landing big roles. For some, it takes years to get their big break. But the number of years one has to put into their career has changed dramatically over the past few decades. Actors who are on the verge of fame have less time than ever before to pick up their big break, especially due to the popularity of social media.

5 Reasons To Hire a Voice Talent For Your Next Project

July 27, 2022 by Emeka Emecheta

If you’re looking to create a video, there are a lot of factors you should consider. You need to think about where your video will be shown, and how it will be shown. You have to consider the production quality of the video, too. But one often overlooked aspect of creating a video is the voiceover. A video without a voiceover is like a book without words. It’s like…nothing.

According to a study by the website Unbounce, voiceover on a website boosted clickthrough rates by 80%.

The right voice will not only improve the quality and professionalism of your audio, but it will also ensure that the right person is chosen to represent and promote your brand.

Let’s take a look at some of the benefits of hiring a voice talent for your video project.

1. Voiceover Creates an Emotional Connection

Your brand must tell a story and this includes what your brand sounds like?

According to the 2021 Voiceover and Sonic Branding Survey carried out by Modev and Voices 91% of companies (that’s 133 companies out of 144) stated that voice branding is critical to the work they’re doing.

Voice branding helps to build an emotional connection. Brands that can connect with their customers on an emotional level are likely to retain them for much longer.

A familiar voice introduces a sense of trust and comfort. Listeners associate that voice with a more positive experience.

Since voiceover artists are professional actors, they have a comprehensive understanding of the different techniques required to create believable character voices. Also, a voice talent will be able to provide you with a range of different character voices and personalities that you may not be able to find in one person.

Perhaps you would like the voice to be male, female, young, old, or something different. It is not just the look that you can choose, but the actual sound of the voice too!

A voice talent can sound like anything your mind can imagine.

2. Voiceover Ensures a Targeted Audience

When people hear your brand’s voice they instantly know your brand and what you stand for. Think about it. How many times have you heard someone say, “Oh I love _____’s voice!”?

Consumers often make decisions about a brand within the first few seconds of hearing or reading a message. Don’t underestimate the importance of your brand voice in connecting with the right people.

Speaking to the right target audience is key to achieving business success. One of the best ways to do that is to speak in their language, in a voice and tone that represents your brand that they can truly connect with.

For instance, bringing in a voice talent that is local to your market will put a face to your company, and make it seem more “human.”

3. You’ll Get The Benefit of Professionalism And Experience

A trained voice over talent will get the best results and take direction when needed.

You’ll also get a voice that’s free of any local or regional accents that may not fit your project, and you won’t have to worry about re-recording the same audio track over and over again.

Using a professional voice talent also enhances the quality of your video and the reputation of your brand.

Other benefits include lower costs, better quality, fewer revisions, and greater creative control (because you don’t have to advertise for a “talent search”).

4. A Voiceover Actor Adds Life To Your Project

Voiceovers can be really effective in making a project ‘come to life’.

Sometimes the written word just doesn’t cut it. You shouldn’t use voiceovers as a crutch, but rather as an alternative way of presenting a message.

Using the right voice adds life to your video, which will keep your viewer from clicking to the next video on the list.

A voiceover talent is able to breathe life into a film, video, audiobook, video game, or animation. A voiceover actor’s life is more than just being in the studio. A voiceover actor is able to go out and meet people with different accents and dialects to help them make the right voice for the character. This increases the authenticity of your message.

5. A Voice Makes Your Brand More Accessible

Is your brand accessible to the disabled?

Don’t forget to add a voice to your product. It’s a huge marketing advantage for disabled customers, it makes your brand more accessible, and allows them to experience your product in a new way.

This will help your brand stand out and unlock a client base that you may not have thought about.

There are a variety of apps with voices for improving the user experience for the disabled. So, if you’re just looking to differentiate your product and make the lives of disabled people a bit easier, then it’s the right thing to do.

Take audio descriptions, for instance. This is a great feature for those who are blind or visually impaired, as it allows them to “see” what is happening in the content. Adding audio descriptions to your product is a win-win for everyone. However, make sure you’re not making your product unusable for people who haven’t enabled the descriptions.

It’s also important to have a good audio production company in order to get an accurate version of your video. A great voice artist can make your videos more impactful and popular. By hiring someone who can sing or speak, you can promote your videos in an interesting, unique way.
